About these terms

These terms govern your use of Gloucestershire Solar Compare and the comparison and installer-matching service we provide through this website. By using the site or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version published here is the one that applies.

What our service is (and is not)

We are an independent comparison and installer-matching service for homeowners in Gloucestershire. We publish guides on solar costs, grants, and how to choose an installer, and we connect homeowners with vetted, accredited installers who can provide quotes. We are not a solar installer, we hold no installation accreditation, and we do not carry out, supervise, or guarantee any installation work.

How we match you with installers

When you submit an enquiry, we pass your details to a limited number of installers who cover your area so they can contact you with a quote. We check that the installers we work with hold relevant accreditations such as MCS and appropriate consumer-code membership, but our checks are a starting point and not a substitute for your own due diligence. We do not guarantee that any installer will quote, nor the price, quality, or outcome of any quote or work.

Your responsibilities

You agree to give accurate information when you submit an enquiry, and to deal with installers directly once we have connected you. We strongly recommend that you verify any installer's MCS status yourself, compare at least three quotes, read the warranties, and satisfy yourself about a firm before signing anything. The decision to proceed with any installer is yours alone.

No installation services provided by us

Any contract for the supply or installation of solar panels, batteries, or related equipment is strictly between you and the installer you choose. We are not party to that contract. We are not responsible for the work, the equipment, the warranties, the pricing, or any dispute that arises between you and an installer. Claims relating to installation work must be taken up with the installer and, where relevant, their consumer-code scheme.

Liability

We provide our guides and matching service in good faith and take care to keep our content accurate, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, from quotes you receive, or from your dealings with installers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as our service evolves or as the law requires. When we do, we will update the date shown on this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
